Halloween Pop-Up Book

Make a unique Halloween Pop-Up book, using any theme! Cut out a Witch and her cauldron or even Frankenstein for a Monster Mash! {The Love Nerds} #Halloween #diy #crafts

I haven’t been shy about the fact that I am a huge book nerd, and my Halloween decorations ended up taking a bit of a literary theme this year with the Macbeth witches as inspiration. You probably know it even if you don’t realize it is Shakers – “Double, Double Toil and Trouble”. I am excited to share the different details with you over the next couple of weeks. First up, a Witchy Halloween Pop-Up Book!

I chose two designs I already had in my Silhouette library and cut it out with my Cameo, but this can easily be done with clip art and a razor blade to cut the image out. I put the image on the center of the book page, and traced it lightly in pencil, trying to give more width to the design at the bottom of the page. For example, I made the legs of the cauldron a bit thicker.

Then, I took my Exacto knife and cut out the entire design EXCEPT for the bottom. You need to keep the bottom of the design attached to the page so it can pop up. Once it is cut out, fold the design up – making a crease where it is attached at the bottom – and add a little scotch tape to the front and back to help support the design up.

What would you pop-up out of the book? Are you a fan of the Halloween Witch theme or what about a Monster Mash with Frankenstein?
